What you will be doing

The environmental engineer is a key role in the interface with local authorities and governmental institutions for the fast pace of the expansion projects that will provide more capacity to our three main types of production steps, Leaching and Refining, precursor and cathode active materials.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Manage vendors & contractors onsite, analyze the potential risk and recommend actions to mitigate the problems from construction (EHS, manpower, logistics …).
  • Perform or support commissioning of the equipment before handing over to the Process team, support process team during the internal qualification
  • Perform engineering and technical support to the projects when needed, undertaking any additional tasks commensurate with the role as and when required.
  • Lead the EIA process in coordination with Project Managers from feasibility evaluation over requirements to completion.
  • Represent the company in the main negotiation with the different stakeholders .
  • Identify and evaluate environmental permitting risks and regulatory changes affecting relevant development projects.
  • Make quality and timely decisions within the Engineering tasks under his/her responsibility
  • Gather relevant data to inform the decision makers regarding complex issues
  • Propose improvements (procedures, organizational, new technologies, capex, productivity) as appropriate.
  • Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and to comply with environmental, health & safety rules/procedures, regulations and codes of practice.

Who we are looking for

The successful candidate has:

  • Master od Sciences, preferably in Environmental Sciences.
  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of Environmental requirements.
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering related projects, namely, on EIA processes
  • Deep knowledge of Environmental legislation (related to the region applying for)
  • Good understanding of industrial processes and waste types
  • Good understanding of gaseous and liquids emissions and its control measures
  • Average knowledge of analytical control
  • Fluent in English
